Community Preference
13th and Fir is located in an area designated at a high risk of displacement and high level of access to opportunity.  The defined area includes census tracts within the Yesler Terrace, Central District, and Chinatown International District neighborhoods (specifically census tracts 84, 85, 86, 87, 90, 91, 92, 94).
To benefit residents of the community who have been displaced from these areas, some of the units at 13th and Fir are set aside for household:
        - where one or more of its members live, work, or go to school in the area or
        - whose families or businesses have been displaced from the area in the past

The specific census tracts designated within the Community Preference policy for 13th & Fir include census tracts

Verifying Eligibility

To be eligible for Community Preference, applicants must provide a document to verify the applicant or household member's current or prior residence, education in the area. Click here to view the list of suggested documents that can be used to qualify for Community Preference by Seattle Office of Housing. Documents must show a name and address of the applicant or household member if used for residential preferences. This list applies to all individuals qualifying for Community Preference (applicants, parents/guardians, ancestors, family members, etc.).
